Everlasting Tanzania Travel is a socially responsible and locally owned adventure travel company based in Arusha,Tanzania – the launching point for African wildlife safaris and Kilimanjaro climbs.

 

We focus primarily on executing low-impact, high quality treks filled with excitement and adventure to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro as well as a diversity of tailor made walkings and wildlife safaris. Along with classic treks and tours, we provide many other unique and interesting Tanzania excursions all of which encompass glorious views and rare insights.

We are one of the very few companies in Tanzania's tourism industry to be both locally owned and operated exclusively by veteran Kilimanjaro guides and professional safari guides.

In August 2012 Everlasting Tanzania Travel and Kilimanjaro Achievers set a new world record by taking the largest group ever to climb Kilimanjaro to the summit of the mountain. 117 motivated climbers out of the initial 119 stood on the roof of Africa.

 

We are the only company to date to have attained near 99% success rate on Kilimanjaro climbs. Meet the Team

Samwel Kisonga

 

Born in the Southern highlands of Tanzania, Samwel (known to all as Sam) Kisonga is an exceptional Kilimanjaro climber; calmly assured, pragmatic and in control.

He is a professionally trained and certified Kilimanjaro guide and attended numerous courses and training on Wilderness first aid so can handle all issues that might arise due to altitude problems.

 

Sam is considered one of the fastest and most gifted guides on Kilimanjaro and has been climbing Africa's highest mountain for more than 15 years and has successfully led more than 250 ascents to the summit. He has long been training with his friend late Ian Mc Keever for the fastest ascent up Kilimanjaro,with the last attempts sees them getting to Lava Tower(4600metre) in 3 Hours and 50 minutes and school hut in 4 hours.

 

Sam oversee company logistics and procurements and he will take great pride in introducing you to this once in a lifetime adventure that will imprint long lasting memories in your mind.

Said Makacha

 

Said Makacha is an enthusiastic guide, with an easy relaxed manner and is an enormously experienced Kilimanjaro guide.

 

He has more than 16 years of experience in Kilimanjaro mountain and started his career leading groups of avid climbers up the Western Breach.

He also took part in making of Imax Kilimanjaro Film where they spent over 30 days exploring every corner of the Mountains.

 

A certified first aid responder,said attended different courses on Wilderness Medicine and technical mountaineering, he knows how to deal with altitude sickness and is very passionate and responsible about his job.

Said has scaled Kilimanjaro more than 300 times. His group sizes have varied from two to fifty people, and ages range from fourteen to seventy. With great enthusiasm, Said will help you to do something you never thought you could.

Jacob Oscar

 

Jacob was born in Mwanza, Tanzania, just at the shore of Lake Victoria, which is the second largest body of fresh water in the World).  As a young boy, he headed to Arusha for his education. He then attended primary school at Patandi, where on clear days he fell in love with the stunning views of Mountain Meru and Kilimanjaro from the classroom window.

 

He then continued his secondary education in Arusha Secondary School, The school customary made a visit in 2001 to Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Ngorongoro CA and Serengeti NP, which awakened his interest of becoming a guide. Upon completing his secondary education, he worked at a local Tanzanite mine for a year which gave him the ability to pursue tour guiding management at Keyfield Career Center. While he was working as a Mt. Kilimanjaro porter, his natural expedition behavior, warm smile, and tendency to put the goals of the group ahead of himself, helped him work his way up to the position of a Kilimanjaro Licensed Guide. During this time he also became a Community-Based First Aid Instructor as well as a Wilderness First Responder.

 

Between trips, Jacob’s passion is to spend weeks mountain biking across Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya to get to know and learn the land and the people the best way he knows how- by bicycle. He was the first Kilimanjaro Guide to legally lead a mountain biking expedition down Mt. Kilimanjaro in January 2011.

 

He is now living in Seattle, WA- USA with his family. During his time in the Pacific Northwest, he has taken advantage of the Cascade Mountains and has widened his skills to include mountaineering, glacier travel, and rock climbing.

Elias

 

In 2009 Elias received his certificate of wildlife management and tour guiding. Following this accomplishment, he has worked with tour companies for more than ten years, gaining experience and expanding his knowledge. Starting as a porter then moving on to work as a guide, his experience will keep you safe and sound as you trek toward your summit goal or venture into the wild in search of game.

 

Elias’ medical expertise and training ranges from basic first aid for minor cuts and scrapes to mountain sickness and emergency rescue (in the unlikely event that it is required). Elias' First Aid training has been certified both in Tanzania and internationally. Elias is a wealth of knowledge on the native flora and fauna common to Kilimanjaro and the African Plain and he enjoys sharing this knowledge in an entertaining manner, giving guests an enriching and interesting narrative on their journey.

 

Having made over 300 trips to the top of Kilimanjaro and more than 30 trips to the summit of Mt Meru, he is passionate about sharing all the wonders that his homeland has to offer with those he guides. Elias believes deeply in creating a complete, safe and memorable experience.
